Coffee for Compassion encourages conversation, philanthropy

Rosie Taranto has had a nagging idea in the back of her mind for the past several years.

"I have had the idea for a while," she said. "Really, it all goes back to my culture. We would always go visit with my mom and have some Mexican bread and coffee and just chit chat about life. I realized that so much good can come from having a conversation and a cup of coffee with someone."

But more than that, she wanted to help nonprofits in the area that needed it. That's how Coffee for Compassion, a mobile espresso bar service that Taranto runs and offers up for local events, was born.
