SAN JACINTO - A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Sept. 4 in San Jacinto when he failed to negotiate a curve and plowed into a pole and other roadside fixtures, authorities said.

The fatality occurred just before 1 a.m. on the Ramona Expressway, between Chase and State streets, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Robert Himmelberg said Alexander Ruff of Moreno Valley was driving his Honda CBR 900 eastbound on Ramona when he entered a curve too fast.

"The motorcyclist failed to negotiate the curve and ran off the road to the right, where (he) struck several fixed objects,'' Himmelberg said.

Ruff was ejected from the Honda onto the pavement.

Witnesses called 911, and paramedics reached the location within a few minutes but were unable to save Ruff, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
