Paraglider killed in San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO - A person died while paragliding when they crashed on the western side of the San Jacinto mountains on Sept. 3.

Firefighters received reports of the downed paraglider just after 10 a.m. near the 200 block of Soboba Road. They trekked to the hard-to-reach spot east of the Soboba Hot Springs community, said Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The paraglider, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

No other injuries were reported.
