Gas prices rise for the seventh time in eight days

RIVERSIDE - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose two-tenths of a cent today to $3.545, the seventh increase in eight days.

The average price is 3 cents more than one week ago, two-tenths of a cent higher than one month ago and 44.6 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has risen 47.2 cents since the start of the year because of higher oil prices.

The average price rose five consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent Tuesday then resumed increasing Wednesday.

The average price is at its highest amount since Aug. 3.
