Lymphoma survivor Greg Allen is presented a $2,000 check Sept. 1, from the $10,000 raised by Murrieta firefighters during the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle for those battling leukemia and lymphoma.

Firefighters participated in the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle Washington in March to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising over $10,000. Firefighters set aside an additional $2,000 to donate to Allen and his family to help with expenses.

Firefighters climbed 69 flights of stairs to the top of the Columbia Center in full turnout gear, wearing Allen's photo on their helmets, as part of the fundraiser.

During the event, Allen spoke about his battle against lymphoma and thanked Murrieta firefighters for their participation and contribution to those battling leukemia and lymphoma.
