Hot air balloons take flight in Anza

The balloons inflate with hot air generated by propane heaters.

The bright dawn revealed a flurry of ballooning activity Sunday, Sept. 2, in Anza. The field came alive with three of the colorful craft and residents pulled over in awe as the large envelopes filled with hot air and prepared to ascend.

Not often seen in the Anza Valley, hot air balloons are much more common in Temecula. But the conditions were perfect and the skyways clear and enjoyable for both pilots, crews and passengers.
