Don't do the crime if you can't do the time

Brown signed Senate Bill 10 Tuesday, Aug. 28, and I have to say, this one’s a doozy. The new law, which goes into effect October 2019, does away with bail for a bunch of crimes and instead creates a risk-based analysis to be conducted at the local level. Counties get to establish a local agency to evaluate those who are arrested on felony charges to determine whether they will voluntarily return for court hearings and what their chances are to be arrested again for another crime.
