PERRIS - A fire that erupted on Thursday, Sept. 13, at a Perris home and spread to a neighboring residence damaged both properties but did not leave anyone injured.

The blaze was reported at 1:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of Ranch Street, near Shadow Court, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

A battalion chief at the scene said crews encountered flames on the exterior of a single-story house, extending to the roof of a two-story property next door.

Eight engine crews and a truck company, numbering about 30 personnel, battled the fire for 30 minutes before fully containing it. The firefighters were expected to complete mop-up operations by 3:30 p.m.

It was unclear whether either property was occupied at the time.

SoCal Edison and SoCal Gas Co. technicians were summoned to make repairs to damaged lines, according to reports from the scene.
