Fall is upon us. Not that it means days will suddenly get cooler. But at least we know the cooler weather will be fast approaching.

The one thing I miss about Fall, being in California, is the turning of the leaves. I never fully appreciated it when I lived in Ohio. I had bought and planted a tree I thought would turn red. But found that the leaves were permanently red. That was a disappointment.

Just a reminder that we are still looking for volunteers to cook, prep and/or work the dinners. We have great help but can always use more.

Here are the activities for the rest of September (which is National Coupon Month) are:

Sept. 21: Laurie’s New England Boil (chicken/shrimp/sausage/potatoes) corn-on-the-cob, roll, salad bar, dessert

Sept. 22: Autumn Begins

Sept. 23: Larry & Debbie’s Pancakes or French toast, eggs to order. bacon or sausage, fruit, coffee/tea/OJ

Sept.. 26: Canteen snacks & hors d'oeuvres potluck

Sept. 28: Mike’s Beef pot roast, mashed potatoes, veggies, dinner roll, salad bar, dessert

Sept 29: Vickie & Ron’s Burgers, Karaoke, 3 to 7 p.m.

Sept. 30: Laurie’s Egg Frittata, maple sausage, breakfast potatoes, muffin, gourmet fruit salad

Meals are open to all, no need to be a member and all meals include coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

If you were born in September, your birthstone is a sapphire, and your flower is an aster.
