Board creates reserved parking for wounded vets at county building

RIVERSIDE – The Riverside County Board of Supervisors ordered that a parking stall at the county Administrative Center be reserved for use by former and active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been awarded the Purple Heart, with the ultimate goal of designating spaces for recipients at all county facilities.

“This is to honor our combat wounded with a special parking place,” Supervisor V. Manuel Perez said. “As we remember the 9/11 terrorist attacks today, we should remember the sacrifices our Purple Heart recipients have made in wars.”
