Hundreds gather in Murrieta for annual Sunset 9/11 Service

Hundreds gathered in Murrieta's Town Square Park, Tuesday, Sept. 11, for the city's annual Sunset 9/11 Service.

Those who gathered sat in silence as the ceremony kicked off. U.S. Marine Corps bagpiper Joel Daniel performed, and the torches symbolizing the lives lost that day were lit.

Murrieta Fire chaplain Jeremy Stalnecker provided the invocation. Murrieta Fire Chief Scott Ferguson and Mayor Jonathan Ingram addressed the crowd.

"There are so many emotions as I stand here at this memorial considering the American lives that were lost, but also for the families that were impacted forever,"...
