Lake Elsinore Council adopts Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The city of Lake Elsinore has taken heed of potential disasters and emergency preparedness following the Holy Fire aftermath, prompting city council to take action at the Sept. 11 meeting. The council approved the adoption of a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan unanimously, following a presentation by Public Works Superintendent Rick de Santiago.

De Santiago described the plan as a process of analyzing the city’s risk from natural hazards, coordinating available resources and implementing action to reduce or eliminate risk. The intent of the plan is to ensure the city is prepared for all haza...
