The National Weather Service San Diego issued a flash flood warning at 5:21 p.m. continuing until 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 for the areas of Western Lake Elsinore, Alberhill, Temescal Valley, Lake Mathews and Ortega Highway.

Initially, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain five miles northwest of Lake Elsinore over the Holy Fire burn area. In addition, excessive rainfall will likely result in debris flows within and downstream of the Holy Fire burn scar.

Shortly after 7 p.m., the NWS canceled the warning early, saying there was only a chance of light showers overnight.
