Murrieta City Council candidates sound off in a community forum

Six candidates for three district seats open for the Murrieta City Council appeared in the first of two public forums held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors office with Gene Wunderlich, Murrieta Realtor moderating.

The candidates appearing at the forum included: current Mayor Jonathan Ingram running against Steven Espinoza, who has since dropped out of the race, in District 1; Christi White, Joshua Knight and Harry Ramos running for the District 2 seat; and write-in candidate Warren Konitshek running for the District 5 seat. Good article. The question of French Valley is a curious one, especially considering most of that area is already part of the official 'sphere of influence' of Temecula (giving Temecula substantial existing rights). All this, confusingly contrary to the area's Murrieta addressing, which is merely the result of an illogical oddity in the way post office zip code assignments at times create very misleading impressions. Beyond that, Murrieta's financial potential in FV is that of a reverse flow.
