Riverside County IMPACT Team cleans up illegal trash dumping

Almost every day, select crews from the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources fan out to cleanup vacant land areas, county highways and roads littered with tons of illegal trash, much of it not only an eyesore, but hazardous to humans and animals.

It is almost a daily process, Mark Cortez of the department IMPACT crew leader said, who attended the East Hemet/Valle Vista Community Cleanup Day, Saturday, Sept. 29.

“We pick up 3 to 4 tons of illegally dumped trash a day, anywhere from Blythe to Corona,” he said.
