Board OKs top prosecutor's request to seek funds for programs

RIVERSIDE – The Board of Supervisors authorized the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office to apply for a state grant in support of programs that assist crime victims and witnesses with counseling, restitution claims and navigating the justice system during its meeting Tuesday, Oct. 2.

In a 5-0 vote without comment, the board cleared District Attorney Mike Hestrin and his staff to submit a request for a portion of the $5.8 million available under the Victims of Crime Act Program for the current fiscal year.
