District attorney gains almost 10 percent pay raise

RIVERSIDE – In a 4-1 vote, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors Tuesday, Oct. 2, increased District Attorney Mike Hestrin’s salary by 9 percent, based on a county policy that seeks to keep the D.A.’s and sheriff’s annual pay aligned.

Department of Human Resources Director Brenda Diederichs said that a county policy implemented four years ago sought to keep the sheriff’s and district attorney’s salaries “tethered.”

“So we’re making their salaries the same?” board Chairman Chuck Washington asked, to which Diederichs replied, “Yes.”
