Three hurt in Hemet wreck

HEMET - Three people were injured, one critically, in a three-vehicle crash on Thursday, Oct. 18 in Hemet.

The collision was reported about 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Soboba Street, according to the Hemet Fire Department.

The circumstances of the crash were not immediately known.

Crews arrived to find one victim trapped in the wreckage, requiring extrication, according to reports from the scene.

The 35-year-old woman, whose identity was not released, suffered major damage to the lower extremities and was unresponsive to paramedics, who summoned a Mercy Air helicopter crew to transport her to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for emergency treatment.

Another victim suffered moderate injuries, and a third patient had complaints of pain but nothing more serious, according to the fire department.

They were taken by ambulance to an inland trauma center for treatment.

Hemet police were investigating the cause of the wreck.
