Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Anza collision

ANZA - A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Friday, Oct. 19 in a collision involving a pickup truck near the Cahuilla Indian Reservation in Anza.

The crash was reported about 1:40 p.m. on state Route 371, just west of Cary Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the scene within 10 minutes and determined that the rider, whose name was not immediately released, needed to be airlifted to a hospital.

A Mercy Air crew arrived about 2:30 p.m. and retrieved the man, who was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.

The pickup driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

The highway was partially closed for the preliminary investigation and to remove the wreckage.
