HEMET – Once again the Ramona Bowl presents the safe and fun-filled Halloween Boo at the Bowl, 6-9 p.m., Oct. 26-27 and 4-7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28. Tickets are $5 presale, available at the Ramona Bowl ticket office, or $6 at the door. If residents bring one of the flyers available throughout town, they can still get the $5 price at the door. There is a $2 charge for parking per car.

The event is the brainchild of TJ Hepburn, who drew on his experience working at the zoo in his hometown in West Virginia. He said he felt Hemet could benefit from an evening where parents can bring their children and have fun in a child-friendly "spooky" experience. He created the candy trail where children trade a ticket for candy as a safe alternative to door-to-door trick or treating.

Volunteers staff the candy stations at Ramona Bowl's Boo at the Bowl, which will be Oct. 26-28.

This year besides the trick-or-treat trail, there are carnival game booths, Bouncerland where parents can sit and watch their children enjoy the various bouncers and mini golf which has a Halloween theme. Once again there will be a magic show that performs once every hour and performances from groups like the Ramona Witches who have danced for the last two years.

The Ramona Bowl is working with several school groups who will work the carnival booths as a fundraiser for their clubs, including West Valley Theatre and baseball and Tahquitz ASB. The San Jacinto Valley Academy Interact club and Hemet Sunset Rotary will be manning the candy trail.

Valley Wide will present their scary haunted hacienda for older children. The extended menu at the concession stand welcomes families for dinner or seasonal treats. New items include corn dogs and fries, and the seasonal treats include the apples with caramel dip.

For more information, call (951) 658-3111, ext. 103, or visit the Ramona Bowl Amphitheater website or Facebook.
