Murrieta recognizes Barbara Nugent for long service to city

Longtime Murrieta resident Barbara Nugent was recognized by that city's council for her efforts to make the city a better place for residents during its Oct. 16 meeting.

Longtime Murrieta resident Barbara Nugent was recognized by city council during its Oct. 16 meeting.

Nugent, who is known to be an outspoken advocate, and sometimes opponent, for the city is relocating to Texas after spending more than 20 years as a resident of Murrieta.

"We have a proclamation recognizing someone who has been an integral part of our community for many years," Mayor Jonathan Ingram said. "Whether it was going out and cleaning up yards, putting up signs making people conscious and aware of what was going on and keeping the community safe and clean she has always been there....
