Community comes together to honor synagogue shooting victims

A group of people come together at the Temecula Duck Pond for a Unity Rally and candlelight vigil for peace and in honor of victims of the recent synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, Nov. 4.

The local Jewish community, along with members of other faiths, came together at the Temecula Duck Pond Sunday, Nov. 4, when they held a potluck, sang and prayed together during a peaceful Unity Rally and candlelight vigil for peace in honor of the victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburg.

Robert D. Bowers was armed with an assault rifle when he burst into the synagogue Saturday, Oct. 27, shouting anti-Semitic slurs and opening fire on those gathered for services. He killed at least 11 congregants, wounded four police officers and two others, according to published report...
