City of Wildomar open for submissions to annual calendar photo contest

Last updated 11/9/2018 at 5:05am

The city of Wildomar announced recently that submissions are being accepted for the city’s annual City of Wildomar Calendar Photo Contest.

The city invites amateur and professional photographers of all ages to submit their best images celebrating the community now through Nov. 30 to be judged for publishing in the city’s 2019 calendar. There are no entry fees.

All residents and visitors of Wildomar are eligible to submit up to two photos, and 12 photos will be chosen. No more than one photo per person will be used in the calendar.

Submitted photos will be judged by a subcommittee comprised of the mayor, city manager and community services staff.

“The contest aims to celebrate ‘All Wildomar;’ therefore, all photos entered must be taken within our city limits or directly adjacent hills and mountains. Photos taken of locations outside of Wildomar will be disqualified,” according to the city.

Low-resolution images will be disqualified.

The city suggested Wildomar’s environment, skylines, open spaces, creeks, trails, parks, wildlife, architecture, cityscapes, landmarks, infrastructure, community scenes of education, volunteering, street/nightlife, celebrations, arts and cultural events, active people and other community aspects as subjects of the photographs.

The photo must be shot in a landscape orientation and submitted in .JPG or .PNG file format, with a minimum file size of 3 megabytes.

The files must be renamed to include first and last name and short title of the photo, following this example: JanetMoralesWildomarSchoolBell.jpeg.

To submit photos by email, attach the photo to the email and do not embed the image. Also, attach the “2019 Calendar Photo Contest Hold Harmless Form,” which is available on the city website and type “2019 Calendar Photo Contest Entry” in the subject line. In the email message, enter the first and last name of the contestant, contact phone number, email address, date and location of where the photo was taken.

Email submissions should be sent to [email protected]

For assistance or for more information, contact Janet Morales at [email protected] or (951) 677-7751, ext. 210.
