It may be a cool day, but flags will fly; uniformed soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen will march proudly; bands will play patriotic music and planes will fly overhead all to honor the country's veterans for their service during Murrieta's Veterans Day parade and celebration, Sunday, Oct. 11.

The parade will form up at Murrieta's Washington Avenue promptly at 1 p.m. with a scheduled flyover. Following the flyover and the playing of the national anthem, the parade moves to the Murrieta Town Square Park and the Field of Honor. The Town Square activities will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Greeting parade goers and visitors will be members of the Murrieta Rotary Club, artists from Murrieta Arts Council, Southwest Women's Chorus, city officials, police and firefighters.

There will be music, food trucks and beer and wine available. The Veterans Day Parade and Field of Honor is held in partnership with VetArt.org with sponsors ICN, Miss Megan's Studio. Jeffrey C. Nickerson, Maples and Associates and Jackie Steed – Temecula Valley Realtor.

Early weather reports the day will be fair with a few clouds with temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s.
