MURRIETA - A Temecula man accused of molesting two girls over a two-year span pleaded not guilty on Thursday, Nov. 14 to more than a dozen felony charges.

Thomas Neal Magee, 32, was arrested last month following a Riverside County sheriff's investigation.

Magee is charged with eight counts of lewd acts on a child, six counts of forced penetration of a minor by force or fear and sentence-enhancing allegations of targeting multiple victims in the commission of sexual offenses.

He was arraigned before Superior Court Judge Kelly Hansen, who scheduled a felony settlement conference for Nov. 28 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

The defendant is being held on $14 million bail at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.

According to the sheriff's department, the family of one of the victims contacted investigators in September to report the alleged offenses. The ensuing investigation revealed that the girl and a second child allegedly had been sexually assaulted on various occasions between the winter of 2016 and this past summer, according to court documents.

The children were identified only by their initials -- "K.O.'' and "L.V.'' It was unclear if the victims are related, and authorities did not disclose how they knew Magee.

The defendant has no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.

If convicted, he faces life in prison.
