Local woman's club supports survivors of domestic violence

TEMECULA – The Temecula Valley Woman’s Club joined the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Safe Alternatives for Everyone, or S.A.F.E., started as a grassroots volunteer committee initiated by founder Carol Niles. Niles was a member of the Temecula Valley Woman’s Club, which joined community leaders to bring awareness of the need for domestic violence services in the valley, and Safe Alternatives for Everyone became a nonprofit organization in 2001.
