TEMECULA - A motorcyclist splitting lanes on Interstate 15 in the Temecula area was killed on Friday, Nov. 16 in a collision with two other vehicles.

The rider was identified as Gary Wilson, 33, of Murrieta.

Wilson was aboard a northbound 2012 Ducati sportbike, just north of Rancho California Road, splitting the two left lanes in heavy traffic about 4:10 p.m. Friday when he collided with a northbound 2016 Honda Odyssey driven by a 38-year-old woman who lives at Camp Pendleton, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The contact caused Wilson to lose control of the motorcycle, which traveled toward the third lane from the left, where the Ducati crashed into the left rear axle of a big rig driven by a 56-year-old Corona man, the CHP reported.

Wilson was thrown from the bike and landed on the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries and no arrests were reported.
