HEMET – Rachael Wallace, life enrichment director with Desert Hills Memory Care, received the California Assisted Living Association’s Excellence in Service “Outstanding Department Director” award.

CALA chooses award recipients based on their commitment to providing outstanding, quality care and service to residents in the communities where they work. Cascade Living Group honored Wallace for her award during their fall conference in Palm Springs, Nov. 5.

Wallace brings a great amount of joy and enthusiasm to Desert Hills Memory Care, her superiors said; her purposeful approach centers on the meaning behind each activity she plans, whether she’s coordinating resident events or training fellow associates.

Wallace’s colleagues described her as goal-oriented with the desire to not just achieve goals but to exceed them in the service of their residents. She is certified by the Alzheimer’s Association and is a “Memories in the Making” practitioner. Wallace also organizes volunteers to serve meals at a local homeless shelter and helps residents volunteer with Together We Rise, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming the way kids experience foster care.

Desert Hills Memory Care is located at 25818 Columbia St. in Hemet. To learn more about Desert Hills and their services, visit http://www.DesertHillsMemoryCare.com.
