Hemet seeks new tree trimming aerial trucks to meet state mandated emission requirements

Fearing Hemet’s two aging aerial ladder trucks which are used by the Public Works Department to maintain and remove trees in the city may be yanked out of service soon for being out of compliance with emission standards set by the state, the city council has approved the purchase of one new aerial ladder truck.

The cost for the new 2019 Ford/Altech truck is $142,702, according to the report given the city council by Kristen Jensen, Hemet Public Works director Tuesday, Nov. 13.
