Pechanga donates turkeys and toilet paper to area food banks

Brian Robin of Pechanga Resort Casino helps box partially unused rolls of toilet paper for those in need during a distribution event at the resort.

The most philanthropic effort an individual or business can make isn't always the most glamorous.

Surrounded by trucks coming and going to a delivery dock at Pechanga Resort Casino, the tribe donated more than 500 frozen turkeys and thousands of partially used rolls of toilet paper to two local nonprofits and a school Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The donations were made quietly to St. Martha Community Food Pantry of Murrieta and the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard, as well as the the Pechanga School, which intends to donate the turkeys to underserved tribes in Southern California.
