Rotary club members, senior citizen veterans honored in pinning ceremony

Rotary club member and retired Naval officer James "JC" Cooley addressed the crowd at the veterans pinning ceremony held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Mary Phillips Senior Center in Temecula.

Rotary Club of Temecula President Craig Davis said, some of the veterans honored by the club Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Mary Phillips Senior Center may have never been recognized publicly for their service in the military.

"Our senior committee on our Rotary club has a Santa for Seniors event each year," Davis said. "Recently we were doing an event for the seniors, and we noticed a couple of the seniors had veteran hats on. Because we've done pinning ceremonies with The Elizabeth Hospice in the past, we decided to get together with them again and have this event."
