One killed in three-car collision on I-215

PERRIS - One person was killed on Saturday, Dec. 1 when a dark sedan flipped over in the center divider of the Interstate 215 Freeway in the Perris area, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 7:18 p.m. on the southbound 215 south of Placentia Avenue, the California highway Patrol said.

A witness reported the southbound sedan flipped over in the center divider and wound up on the northbound side, the CHP said.

One person was confirmed dead and another had minor injuries, the Riverside County fire Department said. Three vehicles were involved in the crash, firefighters said.

A SigAlert was issued at 7:29 p.m. for lanes 1 and 2 of the southbound side and lane 1 of the northbound side. Northbound lanes reopened at 9:18 p.m. and southbound lanes reopened about 10 p.m.
