Suspect injured in Temecula deputy-involved shooting

TEMECULA - Investigators were still at the scene of a deputy-involved shooting in Temecula that sent a suspect to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Sunday, Dec. 2, sheriff's officials said.

The shooting occurred at around 10:40 a.m. at a shopping center on the northeast corner of Temecula Parkway and Margarita Road, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Robyn Flores.

According to Temecula Police, deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person and upon their arrival, the shooting occurred.

The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave per department policy.

She said Salon de Cheveux, an AT&T store, Postal Annex and a Bank of America branch near the scene of the shooting would remain closed until the investigation wrapped up.

Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff Department's Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
