CORONA - A six-vehicle collision on the rain-slick Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona today left one person injured and temporarily blocked several lanes.

The chain crash was reported about 11:15 a.m. on the westbound 91, just east of Green River Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Five cars and a minivan were involved in the wreck, leaving one of the drivers with minor injuries, the agency reported.

Rain was falling in the area at the time and may have been a contributing factor, though the circumstances behind the crash remained under investigation.

A SigAlert was issued at 11:20 a.m. because two of four general purpose lanes were blocked due to the pileup. However, all of the vehicles were moved to the shoulder of the freeway within 15 minutes, and traffic was flowing again, according to the CHP.

It was unclear whether the injured party was hospitalized or declined to be taken for medical attention.
