Prepare vehicles for winter weather

Heavy snowfall and cold can take a toll on vehicles in the winter.

Winter weather is here on the hill, with the resulting freezing temperatures, icy roads, precipitation and mud. These conditions are hard on cars or trucks, but there are several things Anza residents can do to prepare their vehicles to best deal with them. 

Begin by checking fluids. Top off, or even better, flush the radiator coolant. Do not forget the proper amount of antifreeze, which prevents the water from freezing in the radiator and engine, causing expensive damage. 

Check the radiator and heater hoses for cracking or leaking. They should be firm yet pliable when squeezed. Replace...
