Time Machine's Cross Country youth program headed to Junior Olympics

Thirteen local runners will represent the Temecula Valley Time Machine Cross Country program at the USATF National Cross Country Junior Olympic Championships Saturday, Dec. 8, in Reno, Nevada.

The Temecula Valley Time Machine Cross Country and Track and Field program, which caters to the youth in the area, recently qualified 13 local runners to the USATF National Cross Country Junior Olympic Championships. The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 8, in Reno, Nevada, where more than 3,000 athletes are expected to compete.

Time Machine's qualifying athletes who will battle the cold weather include: Malea Hale (8 and under - Girls), Esther Nelson (9/10 - Girls), Arielle Avina, Avery Lynas and Alanna Clarke (11/12 - Girls), Zachary Shoaf (11/12 - Boys), Ashling Fabian, Laura Shoaf, Kelli Gaffney, Joelle Upshur, Kali Kraus, Melinda Dang and Ava Wettlaufer (13/14 - Girls).
