Noah Rau of French Valley takes the oath of office after being appointed to the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District Board of Directors Monday, Nov. 26.

HEMET – Noah Rau was appointed to the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District board of directors Monday, Nov. 26, in a unanimous vote.

Rau, a 38-year-old resident of French Valley, was one of three candidates interviewed for an opening created when Matt Duarte resigned his seat in October to take a job in Sacramento. He will serve the remaining two years of Duarte's term.

Rau is a senior engineer with the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources. He earned associate degrees in math and science from Mt. San Jacinto College and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master'...
