Gang task force leads coordinated warrants effort that leads to arrests

Two weapons were seized, a double-barreled shotgun and a stolen .44 magnum revolver, as well as more than 300 rounds of ammunition in various calibers when officers served warrants on Dec. 12.

The Perris-Lake Elsinore Regional Gang Task Force coordinated the service of nine search warrants in the cities of Perris, San Jacinto, and Riverside on Dec. 12. The warrants were related to the investigations of several shootings and one murder that occurred in the Perris area during the past several months that appear to be gang-related.

Participating teams included Region 1 Gang Task Force, Region 3 Gang Task Force, Region 4 Gang Task Force, Region 7 Gang Task Force, Riverside DA Gang Impact Team, Perris SET team, San Jacinto SET team, Jurupa Valley SET team, Moreno Valley SET team, East PACT, Central PACT, West PACT, Riverside County Sheriff Department SIB detectives, Riverside County District Attorney's Office, and the Riverside County Sheriff Department Central Homicide Unit.

Two weapons were seized, a double-barreled shotgun and a stolen .44 magnum revolver, as well as more than 300 rounds of ammunition in various calibers. One stolen vehicle was recovered, and the driver was arrested. Six adults were arrested for felonies, and five adults were arrested for misdemeanors.

Charges will also be filed on three additional persons related to evidence located during the warrant services.

The following subjects were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center: Joanna Ponce, Daniel Keenan, Teresa Moreno, Anthony Munoz, Melissa Carlos, Melissa Ortega, Charles Trevino, and Robert Montemayor.
