Twenty-two children participated in the annual 'Shop with a Cop' event hosted by the Perris and Menifee police departments.

On Saturday, Dec. 1 the Perris and Menifee Police Departments kicked off their annual "Shop with a Cop" holiday community service program. During the event, 22 children were treated to a trolley car ride with Santa Claus from the Perris Station to the Perris Walmart, complete with a "lights and siren" escort.

At the store, officer's and citizen volunteers shopped for holiday gifts with the children. Each child received a gift card to purchase gifts for themselves, family and friends. Walmart provided a considerable donation to the event, and The Ali Mazarei Family generously purchased gifts for each child.

After shopping, the children were treated to a lunch generously donated by Little Caesar's pizza, and gift wrapping at the Perris Station where Explorers from the Perris and Menifee posts assisted.

The Perris and Menifee Police Departments would like to thank Perris Walmart, City of Perris Chamber of Commerce, Ali Mazarei & family, Perris Citizens Patrol, Nuevo Citizens Patrol, Menifee Crime Watch, Perris and Menifee Explorer Scouts, all the Perris Station Deputies, and everyone whose generous donations made this event possible.
