Two quakes rattle Southwest Riverside County

TEMECULA - Two earthquakes, a magnitude 3.0 hit early in the morning and a magnitude 3.5 struck later in the afternoon of Thursday, Dec. 20 in Southwest Riverside County.

The first quake struck about 3:20 a.m. at a depth of about 6 miles, its epicenter about 26 miles east of Temecula, according to a computer-generated report from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The second quake was recorded in Riverside County at 12:18 p.m. with an epicenter 4.6 miles northeast of Aguanga.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries due to the quakes.
