CORONA - A student was arrested on Friday, Dec. 14 at Corona High School after police were called to investigate reports of a suspect with a gun.

Corona police said officers were summoned to the campus at 1150 W. 10th St. about noon after dispatchers received 911 calls regarding an armed subject, identified only as a male.

The campus was briefly placed on lockdown as patrol officers converged on the location.

"Corona PD quickly responded and arrested the individual in question,'' according to a Corona-Norco Unified School District statement. "All students and staff... are safe.''

Corona police Sgt. Chad Fountain told City News Service around 3 p.m. that details were still developing. He could not immediately confirm whether the student who was taken into custody had a weapon of any kind in his possession, or what he was doing that prompted the emergency.
