ANZA – Anza Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1873 thanks everyone who came out for the rib fundraiser. We raised over $1,000 for veteran fire victims. Every penny raised went to the cause, and other VFW posts are doing the same. It’s amazing what can be done if we put our hearts and minds to it, working together for a good cause. Those who weren’t able to come sure missed some delicious ribs with great side dishes.

Activities for the rest of December, which is National Women’s Volleyball Month, are:

Dec. 21 – Sue and Mike’s ham, scalloped potatoes, veggies, bread, salad bar and dessert

Dec. 23 – Tonie’s biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs to order, sweet rolls and fruit

Dec. 25 – Merry Christmas!

Dec. 28 – Vicki’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, greens, rolls, salad bar and dessert

Dec. 30 – Lauri’s egg frittata, maple sausage, breakfast potatoes, muffin and fruit

Wednesday – Canteen Snacks and hors d’oeuvres potluck

Thursday – $1 all-beef hot dogs with all the trimmings, 4-7 p.m.

Friday dinners – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Saturday – $1 all-beef hot dogs with all the fixings – opens 3 p.m.

Sunday breakfast – 8:30 to 10 a.m.

The meals are open to everyone; membership is not required. All meals include coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

Saturday – Canteen Snacks available 3 p.m.

For anyone who was born in December, their birthstone is turquoise, and their flower is holly and narcissus.

If you wake up breathing – congratulations! You have another chance to start again!
