Murrieta firefighters knock down garage fire, resuscitate cat

A garage fire that broke out in the 29000 Block of Eagle Drive was quickly contained by firefighters Friday, Dec. 21.

The blaze was first reported around 7:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported a two-story structure with heavy fire in the garage threatening to spread into the home. Firefighters mounted an aggressive attack on the blaze, knocking the fire down by 8:10 p.m.

The garage of the home was extensively damaged in the blaze and as firefighters made their way through the home checking to ensure the fire had not spread, they located an unresponsive cat.
