Temecula council bids farewell to Comerchero, welcomes Schwank

The Dec. 11 meeting of the Temecula City Council lingered long into the evening, even though there was no controversial issue being debated, and the evening was bittersweet for many.

In addition to short bits of city business and procedure, the evening served as a lengthy goodbye to outgoing council member Jeff Comerchero, who had served on the council since first being elected in 1997.

Comerchero served as Temecula's mayor in 2001, 2005, 2010 and 2015 and chose to step aside and not run for re-election in November.
