Jasmine West of Temecula Valley High School is named as a First Team All-Southwestern League selection.

The Christmas break has crept up on everyone in the sports department and with the winter sports teams embarking on league play, Valley News can't thank the Southwestern League enough as they continue to announce the All-League teams for many of the fall sports programs. This week the Valley News puts the spotlight on the top local players from girls' volleyball. The 2018 All-Southwestern League high school girls' volleyball teams have been selected, and Jayde Harris of Vista Murrieta High School was named the Most Valuable Player. Harris, who will be attending and playing at Portland State University in the fall 2019, was also an All-CIF selection with Temecula Valley High School's Jordan Amoy.

This year it was a senior-heavy selection process as 22 of the almost two dozen players from the Inland area that earned honors will be graduating in 2019. Despite having a season of destiny, winning all the way through the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs, as well at the CIF State level, Temecula Valley High only had four players make it to the All-Southwestern League teams. Vista Murrieta, who won this year's Southwestern League title, had the most players selected with five. A multitude of talent tops off the rest of the list for both the First and Second Teams, which includes:
