Anza fire severely injures three people

A burned out shell is all that remains following a mobile home fire that injured three people Saturday, Jan. 5.

Three people were hospitalized with severe burns when a fire tore through a mobile home in Anza Saturday, Jan. 5.

The fire broke out at 5:14 a.m. in the 39000 block of Contreras Road, just north of Cahuilla Road, April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

"The first arriving unit reported a single-story mobile home well-involved in fire, with flames through the roof," she said.

Two adults were airlifted to a hospital with serious burn injuries, while a third adult was transported to a hospital via ground ambulance with moderate to serious burn injuries, Newman said.
