TEMECULA - Temecula Valley Unified School District announced a new employee recognition program called TVUSD Employee Superstars to recognize individuals that "go far and beyond the call of duty, doing more than others expect."

Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 1 and 20 to 25 employees will be recognized at a school board meeting in March.

"This is what excellence is all about," the announcement read. "It comes from striving, maintaining the highest standards, paying attention to the smallest detail, and going the extra mile. Excellence means caring - it's making a special effort to do more. Celebrating Excellence is an important part of the Board of Education's recognition of the contributions made by the employees of TVUSD."

Every employee that is nominated will receive written recognition of their nomination. A recognition committee will review all submitted nominations and select the employees that will be recognized at the board meeting.

Only nominations that have complied with the requirements of the application criteria will be forwarded to the awards recognition committee for review. Only submitting someone's name does not qualify, this is the time to share a special story or anecdote about the employee for a nomination. The committee wants to know why the employee deserves recognition.

The district provided some examples:

- Was it exceptional customer service? Why?

- Did they help your child succeed academically, socially, emotionally, athletically?

- What did they do that went above and beyond?

- Do they have a special way about them that brings people together?
