Chase Bank robbed, suspect caught at Pechanga

Thomas Albert Bentley, a 56 year-old resident of San Diego County was booked for robbery on Saturday, Jan. 19.

TEMECULA - A San Diego County resident who walked into Chase Bank in Temecula on Saturday, Jan. 19 with an envelope demanding money and then fled to spend that money at nearby Pechanga Resort Casino, was arrested a short time later at the casino without incident.

Thomas Albert Bentley, a 56-year-old resident of San Diego County, was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for robbery. He is suspected of committing similar robberies in nearby counties and states.

Temecula Police Department reported that deputies responded to a robbery at Chase Bank, on the 32000 block of Temecula Parkway, after reports of the suspect handing a bank an envelope and demand for money, which the employee cooperated with by handing the Bentley an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene in a white sedan that was described by a witness. A social media post by the Temecula Police Department suggested that Bentley had a hard time starting his car, giving witnesses a good view of the make, model and license plate number.
