Hemet city council passes urgency street vendor ordinance

The Hemet City Council approved an ordinance authorizing a sidewalk vendor permit program not without criticism of Senate Bill 946, signed by former Gov. Edmund Brown in September 2018, limiting cities and counties ability to regulate sidewalk vendors on city streets.

Hemet City Attorney Eric Vail whose office wrote the proposed sidewalk vendors ordinance he said was being forced by the state.
