HS Basketball: Local point scorer helping St. Jeanne stay competitive

Freshman point guard Damian Ruiz of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School leads the South Valley League in points per game with 35.

It's never easy being the new kid on the block, especially as a high school, but in order to get off the ground, you have to start somewhere. This year the Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School in Temecula has been busy establishing themselves in the local high school sports realm, and despite their record and their youth, the boys' basketball team has been staying competitive in the South Valley League thanks to some serious point scoring from one of their standout freshmen.
